Saddleworth W.I. October News
Saddleworth WI’s Annual General Meeting
has been moved back a month and will now
take place on Wednesday 7
This is an integral and mandatory part of the
WI calendar to ensure the WI is fairly and
correctly manage.
At our October meeting, Antony Buckley of
Saddleworth Butter Company
will give us
a brief introduction into his company and
then show us how to make butter, along
with recipe suggestions and tasters of a
wide variety of flavoured butters.
On Friday 26
October we are holding an
Fashion Show
by Colours at
Saddleworth Rangers Rugby Club, starting
at 7 p.m. All profits from this will be
donated to our 2018 charity, Oldham
Mountain Rescue Team. Tickets in advance

We are really pleased to announce the
2018 Saddleworth W.I. Christmas
which will be held on 2nd
December at a new venue, The Saddleworth
Rangers Rugby Club, Shaw Hall Bank
Road, Greenfield. This will to be a great day
out for all the family, community based and
dog friendly, with wheelchair and pram
access. Santa will be in his grotto with
present and children will have the
opportunity to pet and feed his reindeer.
Kickstart your Christmas shopping at the
large variety of stalls and visit the food hall
in the marquee where you can also treat
yourself to a hot chocolate or mulled wine
or enjoy Mann’s Wharf Hog Roast whilst
you listen to brass bands to get you into the
Christmas spirit. Hot and cold drinks and
food will be available all day. There will
also be a chance to win a bespoke hamper
full of Tesco’s finest festive goodies.
All profits donated to OMRT.
Our monthly meetings are held of the first
Wednesday of each month in the Wimberry
Suite at the Royal George, Greenfield. For

monthly speakers, all forthcoming events
and activities together with details of our

Our popular members’ sub-groups meet
monthly and are a great way to make new
friends of all ages. Information on day trips;
food and drink group; theatre trips; book
club; planned walks and the craft and cake
group can be found on the website. New
members and guests are always welcome.
Guests can attend one ‘taster’ meeting
before joining. Donation of £1.00 per
member & £3.00 non-members per meeting
towards running costs. Meetings start at
8.15pm, but please arrive from 7.30pm .
